Clean Your Plastic Shower Curtain Liner

I have a plastic shower curtain liner that was really dirty with soap scum and mildew. I had read that you could throw these in the washing machine, but I was hesitant since mine was a heavy-duty liner.

The liner is similar to this one . It's a heavy duty liner.

Well, I should not have been concerned because it really works!

I put the liner in the machine with some white towels, regular detergent, and 1 cup of vinegar. I had read that the vinegar will remove the soap scum, and it sure did! I ran it through a cycle with warm water. When it was done, I hung it back up on the shower curtain rod to dry.

Good as new! Keep the liner looking great with this homemade daily shower spray.

Selecting & Storing Kiwifruit

Looking at the rough brown exterior of a kiwi, you would never imagine the beautiful emerald interior. The beauty sliced kiwi makes it a perfect candidate for fruit tarts or garnish, but I have also seen them used in baking.

Selecting a mature kiwifruit is generally not an issue. Kiwi are in season almost year-round and they ship and store very well.

The brown skin of the kiwi won't tell you much about the fruit's contents. It is important to select a fruit that is firm but not hard. There should also be no soft spots or shriveling.

A ripe kiwi has softened slightly, similar to a ripe peach. If your kiwi hasn't softened, store it at room temperature for a few days to ripen completely. Ripe kiwi can be stored in the refrigerator up to one week.

A Simple Frugal Headband

I love my frugal face wash {if you haven't tried it, you can read about it here}, but I needed something to hold back my hair when I use it.

I came across this great tutorial for making a headband out of the sleeves of a t-shirt. Since we have more t-shirts around here than we could wear in a lifetime, I knew this was the project to try.

You can read the detailed tutorial here. Since I don't have a rotary cutter, I just used a scissors and it worked great. I didn't do any measuring--just cut strips approximately 1 inch wide.

I used one sleeve cut into four strips. Three strips make the headband and the fourth is wrapped around the seams to hold it all together.

Super simple. Problem solved. Cost : $0.

10 Goals for This Week

Personal Goals

1.  Sleep at least 7 hours per night (this has not been happening and I really feel it).

2.  Re-read What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast and re-evaluate my morning routine.

3.  Read Kisses from Katie. This book has been sitting on my nightstand for too long!

Home Management

4.  Make a meal plan for next week. Since I have fallen off the meal planning bandwagon, my goal for this week is to plan the meals for next week. I plan to go shopping on Saturday so I have everything I need for next week--no excuses!

5.  Decide on a refrigerator/freezer inventory system. I'm wasting way to much food because it gets lost in the fridge. No more!

6.  Plan and schedule a "Pantry Organziation" series (and get my cluttered pantry in order).

Business/Blog

7.  Continue working on my new ebook! (At least 2 hours per day.)

8.  Finish reading/listening to Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World by Michael Hyatt. I originally purchased this as an audiobook. I am really enjoying it but there is just too much information to digest in this form. I ended up getting the hardcopy version as well. Tons of information in this book!

9.   Finish reading You Are a Writer (So Start Acting Like One). This ebook is still free at Amazon and is so encouraging.

10. Write one guest post this week.
