To prevent the end of the packaging tape from sticking to the roll (and making it difficult to find the end again), I use a paperclip at the end of the tape.
When I need to unroll tape, I just lift the paperclip, and I'm ready to go. Before cutting the tape, I reposition the paperclip to prevent the end from adhering to the roll so I'm ready for the next time.
I've been taking advantage of Amazon's trade-in program to trade some of our used DVDs, video games, and books for Amazon credit. As a result, I've been packaging items and taping up boxes. This tip has made the job much easier.
